"Red Cloud"
(Makhpiya-Luta)
Sioux Nation Warrior and Chief
Truly a piece of Native American nostalgia, Cigar Store Indians are the epitome of cigar related collectibles, still the perfect symbol of cigars.

As a fierce warrior and a Sioux Nation Chief and Statesman, Red Cloud's success in confrontations with the United States government marked him as one of the most important Lakota leaders of the nineteenth century.
This very special Red Cloud Cigar Store Indian reproduction represents an exact replica of the original wood carving created by renowned sculptor Louis Jobin, circa 1882. Made from crushed walnuts and resin, this 12" high collector's Cigar Store Indian has been meticulously recreated exclusively for FactoryDirectCigars to stand proudly next to your humidor. The original six foot plus carving was commissioned by wealthy tobacconist shop owner, Jonathan Albright, of Boston, who greatly admired Chief Red Cloud's compassion.
Albright had been an officer assigned to the garrison at Fort Phil Kearny, Wyoming when it came under attack by Chief Red Clouds war party in 1866. Having been spared his life by Chief Red Cloud, Jonathan Albright went on to become a staunch supporter and advocate of the American Indians' plight as well as becoming a personal friend of Chief Red Cloud until his death in 1906.
The original statue, reportedly sold in excess of $84,000, now resides in the personal collection of one of the worlds most prominent collectors of Native American Art.
